I PAID MY JUDGMENT; WHY IS IT STILL SHOWING ON MY CREDIT?
The Credit Bureau gets judgment information from the State Courts website. When you have paid the judgment, it is up to the person you have paid to file a satisfaction with our office. We do not report information to the Credit Bureau, so it will be up to the Credit Bureau to update your information. The judgment will still be on your credit report, but it will show satisfied.
DO I HAVE TO APPEAR IN COURT OR CAN I JUST PAY MY TICKET?
If you were given a court date on your ticket, it is required that you appear for court. Please refer to Case.net to track your court dates. If your ticket says it is due within 30 days, please contact the Fine Collection Center at 1-877-866-3926.
CAN I PAY MY TICKET OVER THE PHONE?
Yes. However, you must plead guilty to the charges before you can make a payment. You can call (417) 847-3133 to pay by credit or debit card. Our office accepts cashier’s checks, money orders, cash, business checks, debit, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. You can also pay online at Case.net
DO I HAVE TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY FOR MY TRAFFIC TICKET?
You do not have to hire an attorney to come to court. If you would like to hire one you may, but it is not required.
WHAT IS THE PROPER ATTIRE FOR COURT?
Shirts and shoes must be worn in the courtroom.
Prohibited attire includes:
Heavily soiled work clothing, bare-midriff outfits; shorts, cut-offs, halter tops, tank tops, tube tops, undershirts, see-through blouses, bathing suits, lingerie, non-prescription sunglasses, hats, helmets, pajamas, slippers/house shoes, baggy pants or pants that drag on the ground, shirts open below the arms, clothing emblazoned with obscene words, images, or messages contemptuous or disrespectful of the judicial process.
All undergarments must be covered by outer clothing.
Jail jumpsuits shall have no more than the top button/snap/closure unfastened.
No weapons of any kind will be allowed in the Judicial Center.
As you enter the Barry County Judicial Center you will be required to pass through a security checkpoint. No exceptions will be allowed.
